The TuffHill eBikes Tour de Calgary is here - Aug 20/21

Updated: Aug 7, 2022

We are planning to ride the 145km Rotary/Mattamy Greenway pathway and we'd love for you to join!

We will ride the route over two days on Aug 20th and 21st. You can join for the whole epic tour or pick just a day to ride with us.

The objective: see your city like you've never seen it before from the comfort of your bike seat.

The TuffHill ebikes team will be riding our Ebikes, but good ol' mechanical bikes are also more than welcome on this ride with us. We'll likely have different groups going at different paces.

Here are the details:

  • Day 1 (roughly 75km): Meet at 8:00 am in the Beacon Hill Home Depot parking lot. You can and leave your car there for the night if you are planning to do the two day ride.

  • Take the Greenway path system clockwise and ride until we reach the Community of Seton in the SE. Day 1 highlights:

    • Wetlands

    • Elliston Park (here we plan to eat a packed lunch)

    • Potential Brewery stop

  • Overnight: We have a reduced group rate on hotel rooms at the Marriot Courtyard in Seton. We plan to stay overnight there to rest our weary hamstrings and debrief our adventures from the day.

  • Day 2 (roughly 70km): Depart from the hotel at 9am and make our way back to Beacon Hill. Day 2 highlights:

    • Fish Creek Park

    • Weaslehead Flats

    • Potential lunch stop at Angel's cafe

    • Potential for a try at frisbee golf at Baker Park

Regarding the schedule above, we will have an "it's about the journey not the destination" kind of approach, so we won't have pressure to stick to a rigid timetable. Riders of different speeds and levels are all welcome.

Note on what to expect logistics-wise: this is not really an official/formal event with water stations, first aid support etc. etc. It's more like you just joining your friends at TuffHill eBikes for a ride around the city. All riders will provide their own food/snacks and bring hydration supplies etc. What we will help with is navigation of the route, with a few volunteers who can help make sure no one gets lost!

Interested in joining? Send us an email at connect@tuffhillebikes.com so we know to expect you. We can also provide more details re: hotel accommodation, what to bring, route questions etc.
